In 1986-87 the club finished in a creditable 6th position. The reserves could only finish 10th in the Intermediate Division however they did reach the Reserve Cup Final. The final played at Wadham Lodge, the home of Pennant was memorable for a couple of reasons. The club hired a double decker bus for the short journey. As the bus climbed onto the motorway bridge less than 20 yards from the club it broke down right on top! Players and Officials had to abandon bus and walk back to their cars and make the short journey! Also a certain spectator by the name of Danny Brede, who most certainly under the influence at the final tried to walk behind the goal. In those days there was not much room at Pennant and a comedy slap stick sketch occurred as Danny became entwined with the goal net! It took all the efforts of the stewards to untangle Danny as he became increasingly agitated and worse for wear trying to get out. It was one of those comedy moments to saviour from the past! Sadly we lost 1-0 to Barkingside in the match!
